How Does it Work?

You Watch

Short videos focus on how to listen for details in music and how processing such as transients, saturation, dynamics, transformers, tubes, EQ, reverb, delay, tape and distortion affect sounds.

You Play

You’re then presented with a series of courses containing games designed to test and develop your listening skills on each subject, and are awarded points and achievements for successful completion.

You Learn

This “Guess Method” has been in use for over 40 years and has a proven track record in training thousands of successful engineers. Our approach makes the process fun with a competitive edge!

Take the test and find out how developed your skills are. Its a maximum of 25 questions (the better you perform the less questions there are.)

Support the Audio Engineering Society

Established in 1948, the Audio Engineering Society develops, reviews and publishes engineering standards for the audio and related media industries. They are responsible for introducing many of the formats we all use in the recording industry today including AES3 (AES/EBU) and MADI (AES10).  This is an important organisation for anyone involved in audio and so for every new subscription we will donate up to $10 to the AES to help it continue developing devices or products for audio, and for persons working in audio content production.
